Description
Organized on February 6, 1868: “To perpetuate the memory of the fortunes and achievements of the Army of the Cumberland.” The major features of this medal are the Star represents the 11th and 12th Corps of the Army of the Potomac, which were incorporated into the 20th Corps, the Triangle of the 4th Corps, and the Acorn representing the 14th Corps. The overall length of the beautiful, high quality medal is appx. 3½” (90mm), the star itself is appx. 2” (50mm) across.
