Description
“I rode with Forrest!” These four words alone were sufficient to define a Civil War Veteran’s service for those who fought on either side of the late War of the Rebellion. Since no records of a Forrest Cavalry Corps Society survive, original medals may have been issued during any of several post-war reunions. This gleaming brass and enamel reproduction, from an original, is a massive 1.75” (45mm) wide by 3.75” (90mm) in length and weighs almost 2 oz, making it one of the largest and most elaborate of the post-civil war medals ever struck.
